Sunny Sunday

By going on the water at 6:30 all where happy with the West upto 15 knots. Putting the starting marks in the water the wind dropped. But after 8:00 we had 2 races in the Nacra,2 races in the 49erFX and one race in the 49er fleet. Light winds, but fair.
After a brak in the club the thermic builds up and the dayly programm could be compleated with 2 Nacra races, two 49erFX Gold, two 49erFX silver, three 49er goldand twor 49er silver races. That is what sailors like.
A small pricegiving (do not forget we have Covid times) find worthy winners. All the sailors looked happy and where grateful to the organicer UYCAs and Race Committee.

Difficult Friday

Friday started like Thursday with a lot of fog in the morning. It tooks much longer today to clear the lake from the fog. Attersee got wind in area Alpha and Bravo where there was sailed two nice races with the silver fleets. After the silver salors the gold ones come out. Another two races for the 49er but no race for the FX. "The wind was not stable enough for a good race", the Race Officer decided.
The Nacras on the Noth course tried to satrt twice but abandonend everything. No race on area Charly.
Everybody keeps the fingers crossed for tomorrow, when the Gold fleets starts in the schedule.

Thermical Thursday

Thursday started with a lot of fog in the morning. After some hours the fog was dried up from the sun a nice themical breeze started from NorthEast.
The Nacras had four races in the row. The 49ers and 49erFX had three races in all groups and so the qualification series are done. Tomorrow its time to sail in Gold and Silver fleets.

Windless Wednesday

Today it was a very nice day, but there was no sailable wind. The 49erFX fleet went out in a breeze from South but after an hour AP and H was shown on the committee boats. In the late afternoon the flagpole showed AP and A.
A welcome diversion was a training flight of the "Flying Bulls".

Tricky Tuesday

The first day of racing takes part with wind from South and West.
The Nacras had their cours in the northern part of the lake. The wind there was about stable in direction but different strength. After three difficult races the young Team Emil Jarudd / Cecilia Jonsson from Sweden are 4 points ahead of Santiago Lange / Celilia Carranza from Argentina in the list of results.
The 49ers sailed on two courses south of the village Attersee. There the wind had good preasure but was really shifty. The results are very close in points. In the lead there are Sime Fantela / Mihovil Fanltela from Croatia followed by Tim Fischer / Fabian Graf from Germany.
After the boys the ladies went on the courses. Stable wind from South made possible the best races on that difficult day. The blue fleet had three nice races. The yellow fleet had at a lack of wind for the last boats of the fleet at race no. 2, but anyway good races. In the lead there are Tina Lutz / Susann Beucke from Germany. 3 Poins more for the Norwegean ladies Helene Neass / Marie Ronningen and the Swedish Klara Wester / Rebecca Netzler equal in points.

A perfect day

With sunshine and 20 knots from NorthEast the Attersee shows its best side. It was a perfect day for training and all the boats have been out for a long time. Therefore the tagging of the forestay was postponed to after practice race.

49er boats park is at Häuplhof, 49er FX and Nacra 17 at UYCAs

UYCAs made an agreement with Häuplhof, who has a lovely area to host the 49er class. So there is the possibility to use 5 slipways, three at UYCAs and two at Häuplhof.
On the one hand the classes are close together with a walk of some minutes, on the other hand it provides the possibility to keep some physical distance.

Thanks a lot to Häuplhof for supporting all the sailors the UYCAs!

Notice of Race is ready

It needs some time to collect all the needed information and things as well as to compile a budget. In these times it is not easy to find sponsors: most of the companies are struggling due to Corona. In addition, the timeframe was/is very short. But the UYCAs tried to do the best.
See the Notice of Race here or one of the class websites.
Fill your entry till Friday, August 28th, 2020.

UYCAs IS honoured to host the 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 Europeans

The Europeans where scheduled to take place on lake Garda in May. Due to the Corona pandemic it was not possible to sail at this time. In late June 2020 Ben Remocka and Lisa Farthofer started to think about Europeans at Attersee. On July 5th the Union-Yacht-Club Attersee was nominated to host 2020 Forward WIP 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships. In the following two weeks we built up the organising team with Günther Lux as the chairman. In the committee there is also the president of the club Michael Farthofer and his doughter Lisa Farthofer (a well known sailor in the 49erFX class) as well as Gert Schmidleitner, who will act as PRO.
